Daily itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
- Arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) or Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), your guide and driver will meet you at the exit and escort you to a carefully selected hotel in the center of Beijing. The rest of the time is at your disposal, so you can take a break from jet lag or explore around the hotel on your own.
- Free Time Advice: You are welcome to ask your guide for some helpful free time advice based on your time and interests.
Day 2: Beijing City Tour
- After breakfast today, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a tour of Beijing. Visit Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world.
- Cross the road to the magnificent Forbidden City, a Chinese historical and cultural landmark that has been the home of Chinese royalty for five centuries.
- After visiting the Forbidden City, we will continue to visit the Summer Palace. Admire the beautiful gardens and imagine enjoying the lifestyle of royalty and courtiers in this summer resort during the imperial era.
- Then visit the famous Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties held ceremonies to pray for the country's harvest and blessings.
Note: Since the Palace Museum is closed every Monday, your tour guide may adjust your itinerary
Day 3: Beijing
- In the morning, you will head northwest of Beijing (about 1.5-2 hours by car, 73 kilometers) to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. With a history of more than 2,000 years and stretching more than 3,000 miles across several provinces in northern China, the Great Wall is one of the most impressive ancient masterpieces on earth. Take a pleasant and comfortable roundtrip cable car transfer over the picturesque city walls and walk to the Ming Dynasty watchtowers and sensational views. After returning to the city in the afternoon, we will continue to visit the Confucius Temple and the Imperial College Museum. Stroll through Wudaoying Hutong, wander through quaint shops, sip coffee, experience local life, and get an insider's perspective on the real Beijing community.
Day 4: Take the high-speed rail from Beijing to Xi'an
- After breakfast, we will drive to the Beijing Zoo, which was built in 1906 by the Ministry of Commerce under the order of the Ministry of Commerce and consists of three parts: the Zoo, the Botanical Garden and the Botanical Garden.
- Agricultural experiment. It is the first zoo open to the public in China. It is also considered the birthplace of China's modern zoos, botanical gardens and museums.
- After the tour, you will be escorted to the railway station and take the high-speed rail to Xi'an (about 4.5-5.5 hours). Welcome to Xi'an, the capital of thirteen Dynasties in ancient China! When you arrive at the railway station, your guide and driver will meet you at the exit and then escort you to your hotel in Xi'an.
- After settling in, take a walk to the Tang Shopping Center, which vividly recreates the architecture and culture of the Tang Dynasty and is a great place for nightlife and immersive experiences of all kinds.
Day 5: Xi'an
- After breakfast, the guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel. Drive about 40 kilometers (about one hour) and you will discover one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world, the Museum of Terracotta Warriors, which was built by Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of China, to protect him after his death. Considered to be the world's largest underground military base, take a look at this remarkable archaeological find featuring thousands of unique life-size figures.
- Return to the city and explore the ancient city wall of Xi'an, currently the largest and best preserved in China. Surrounding the former capital of China, nearly 14km long, enjoy your free time and explore on foot or by bike.
- Mix with the locals and find food of all flavours in the Muslim Quarter, which is full of authentic restaurants and tourist souvenirs. Today's last stop is the famous Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square in Xi'an.
- Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening or book dinner, a show, or two nights of entertainment.
Day 6: Xi'an to Shanghai
- After breakfast, check out from the hotel, the guide will take you to the Shaanxi History Museum, where you will see more than 370,000 Chinese historical relics.
Day 7: Shanghai
- Begin your Shanghai tour with a visit to the Shanghai Post Museum, a large landmark building built in 1924 that incorporates European-style architecture. It is now a historical landmark protected by the Shanghai Post Museum.
- After your visit, take a stroll to the Bund, one of the best-preserved representations of old Shanghai's charm.
- You cross the Waibaidu Bridge, one of the landmarks in the old city of Shanghai, which spans the Suzhou River. It is the earliest and largest steel bridge in Shanghai, and it is a viewing platform for tourists to enjoy the magnificent skyline of Pudong.
- Walking on Nanjing Road, the busiest shopping area in China. Change the pace and visit the Yuyuan Garden, where you can marvel at the artistically designed traditional Chinese gardens; Then go to the nearby Chenghuangmiao Market.
- You feel like a local as you hop on a public ferry amid the crowds and slowly make your way through the Huangpu River from Old Shanghai to Shanghai's Pudong district. Take the fastest elevator in the world and climb the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in Shanghai. You can enjoy the Oriental Pearl TV Tower below and have a bird's eye view of the whole city.
Day 8: Leaving Shanghai
Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to the airport for your flight home.
For small tour groups, transfers from the hotel to Hongqiao or Pudong Airport can be arranged upon request.
